Translating English to Turkish

Recently, my wife had reason to visit Girne telecommunications to inform them that an absent friend's land line telephone connection had developed a fault and wasn't working. She visited them three times over a period of 2 months.

|
|
Visit one...in the side door, up the stairs, give the number to the nice man in the office and said "problem." The man smiled, nodded and held one of his hands up in a reassuring manner.
|
|
|
|
|
Visit two...(whilst holding the palms of her hands towards the sky and shrugging her shoulders) said, "you no fix - working yok - problem!" This time, the nice man called to one of his co-workers and they chatted together before he placed one hand on his chest, raised the other, closed his eyes and nodded sincerely.

|
|
Visit three...(whilst scowling angrily and pointing before wagging her index finger) said, "no good, cok problem, me, here, bir, iki, ьз times, fix zaman! Well the nice man simply couldn't believe that the problem hadn't been fixed and jotted down several lines on his notepad before asking a co-worker to explain in English that this time he would make sure that the problem was fixed.

Following each visit, she checked the telephone to see if it was working, but each time she picked up the handset to check...nothing but silence. It seems that the 'Tarzan speaks Turkish' approach doesn't work so, what could we do to get the problem fixed? I switched on my computer, opened up Microsoft Word and typed:-

Hello, I am sorry to trouble you again. This is the fourth time that I have reported that there is a fault with the telephone line 0392xxxxxxx. It is important that this fault is fixed immediately, because the telephone line is needed to make calls in an emergency. When the telephone is picked up, the line is silent. The telephone bill has been paid. Please can you locate and fix the problem today. I thank you for your help and assistance in solving this problem for me.

I opened Google, did a quick search and found www.translate.google.com - I selected "English" in the first drop down menu and "Turkish" in the second before copying and pasting the text into the main window and clicking the "Translate" button, here's what came out:-

I printed it out and my wife took it and gave it to the nice man at Girne telecommunications. He lifted his telephone, spoke to someone and the next day, when she checked the telephone, hey presto...bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

|
"Google translate" translates English into 50+ other languages and back again so, Turkish to English isn't a problem either.
