North Cyprus internet - an introduction

In my weekly "Tic Top Tip" (formerly "Ticproblemsolver") column in the Cyprus Today newspaper, I offer impartial advice on all aspects of computing and internet and I hope to do the same here, but it would be quite wrong of me to do so without first, declaring an interest in the marketplace so, here it is --->
What does it mean? Well, customers of eXtend Broadband can make their monthly, quarterly or, annual payments through us (Arriva Limited - an officially registered Northern Cyprus company) and even though it costs no extra (the price that you pay through us is the same price that you pay eXtend direct) - when you do pay through us, you can take advantage of an extra layer of customer service.

North Cyprus internet - some great deals
|
At the moment, there are some great deals on offer! eXtend's existing customers can renew or, switch to a 512kbps annual contract for 699TL, whereas customers on 512kbps monthly contracts pay 89TL per month. Customers with 512kbps annual contracts can upgrade to 1Mbps for only 300TL per year extra and customers on 512kbps monthly contracts can upgrade to a 1Mbps annual contract and as well as doubling their speed, can save 69TL per year in the bargain.

North Cyprus internet - why pay through us?

eXtend serve many thousands of customers through their customer helplines and sometimes, they get very busy. We serve far fewer, mainly British Expat' customers. We understand the needs of the Expat community and we have three contact numbers that are open 7 days a week.
We keep our own client records and remind you when your payment date approaches, you can either call in to see us to make payments or, we will collect payments from you - beats travelling into town and standing in the queue at the bank and we have direct access to eXtend's customer payment system and directly login your payments - receipt is acknowledged immediately.
Any account queries can be independently verified through our system which avoids problems, but if an account problem does arise, let us know and we deal with it on your behalf.
If you experience a technical problem with your internet connection, the first call that you make is to us. Tell us what the problem is and we will offer our advice based on our previous technical experience in this field and our knowledge and understanding of how the wireless internet system works in Northern Cyprus. We know what questions to ask, to diagnose the exact problem. Our understanding helps us to fix the majority of problems over the telephone in a few minutes and so avoids downtime (whilst you are waiting for a technical representative to call to fix a problem that you can fix yourself.) If a technical representative does have to call to change a component, you can rest in the knowledge that the few questions we have asked you, will have helped us to diagnose the exact problem and what component needs replacing. We will contact eXtend on your behalf, tell them what is wrong and what needs to be done, make the arrangements and call you back and let you know what is going to happen and when it is going to happen.

North Cyprus internet - why buy through us?

We invite any potential customer to contact us and discuss your internet requirements. We will tell you all about the different wireless systems that are available and how they compare. We will enquire as to the location of your house and offer advice about the type of equipment and internet connection that is best for you. We will give you a quote immediately and if you want to proceed, we will arrange an installation immediately - over the telephone. We will make all the arrangements and call you back to let you know what they are. We will liaise with eXtend and with you, right up to the day of installation, when we will contact you and inform you of the anticipated time of arrival. When the installation is complete, we will speak to eXtend's chief technical officer to make sure that the wireless signal and connection is good and this is where your relationship with us begins.

North Cyprus internet - suspension of accounts
|

If you are a British expat' who only spends part of the year in Northern Cyprus, you will be pleased to hear that eXtend's flexible contracts allow you to suspend your account for a minimum period of one month at a time and allow you to have 12 months usage, but spread over a two year period. Effectively, this halfs the yearly cost of your internet connection.

We have our costs and overheads to pay so, we can't do things for free and we know that you understand this, but the commission that eXtend pay us for our services, does allow us to go one step further than what you would expect from your internet service provider.
