Windows Vista user account control

The black screen and those annoying messages

Windows Vista users will be used to their screen turning black and the annoying message "Windows needs your permission........." You are required to think, make a decision and click "OK." Not something that anyone likes to do 'repeatedly,' for the same thing.
It is called "User Account Control." Some say that it was included in Windows Vista as a security feature. It forces you to run Vista in "Standard User" mode instead of "Administrator" mode. This means that every time that you try to do something that may affect the security of your computer, you are prompted for a decision and a click, but is this a good thing or, a bad thing?
Surely, anything that protects our "computing and internet" security must be a good thing, but does this message appear 'that' often, that eventually, users are conditioned into clicking "OK" without reading the message? What about the time that a user clicks "OK" when they shouldn't, simply because they are 'that' used to doing so! Have Microsoft made a mistake by forcing us to view this blackout and little message 'so' many times? Maybe they have?
A product manager at Microsoft has actually admitted that they included "User Account Control" in Windows Vista purposely to annoy the users. Seems like a strange thing to do, but he went on to say that it was part of Microsoft's 'game-plan' in forcing the independent software vendors to make their products more secure. Now, maybe it makes sense. Insecure code in a piece of software, triggers the black-out and the message, which annoys the user, and that is the last thing that a software vendor would want to do and so, they make their code more secure...but I still think that it has been over-done.
So, are you going to let "User Account Control" drive you crazy or, are you simply going to disable it? If you are contemplating disabling this feature, you should first consider whether you feel sufficiently competent to manage without it. If you do, here's how to disable it.
Click "Start" and go to "Control Panel." On the right, at the top, type "UAC" into the "Search" box then, click on the link "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off." On the next screen where it says, "Use User Account Control (UAC)" - remove the tick from the box, before clicking the "OK" button. Now, reboot your system and it will run 'annoyance free' until that is, you click on something that you shouldn't and then, you'll wish that you had the second chance that "User Account Control" gives you to make good.

We are very satisfied with the new phone system, it has great clarity and the volume at both ends is very good.
We have phoned both UK and USA and the reception on both was very good.
All in all, it is FAR BETTER than skype and x-lite and also, more convenient with being able to have phones in various parts of the house.

We are very happy with the new phone system, as it is very clear with no delay. Since you fitted it we have had quite a few calls from friends and family in England and all calls have been really clear, as though you were talking to them across the room.

The telephone is fantastic, after struggling with Skype and paying silly prices for the mobile phone for a year we are more than happy to recommend the system.
The reception is as good as a land line and we do not have to leave the computer on. Having the extension phone in the kitchen means we can hear the phone anywhere in the house, great!
